Chalet for Christmas is free to read because some of the links on it are commercial. If you book through one of those links, the company you book with pays us a commission. You pay exactly what you would have paid going to them directly.

Which links are commercial

Any link that takes you to a booking partner. We mark these as sponsored links, and there is a note on every page that carries them, immediately above the links rather than buried at the bottom. Links between pages of this site, and links to a resort’s own tourist board or to a source we have cited, are never commercial.

Who we work with

Booking.com, through the CJ Affiliate network. We are building relationships with ski tour operators, ski hire, activity and car hire partners, and this page will name each one as it goes live. We will not list a partner here before the relationship genuinely exists.

What it does not affect

• The Christmas Snow Score. It is calculated from altitude, terrain, snowmaking and past December openings. There is no commercial input to it, and the working is shown on every resort page so you can check.
• Our rankings and recommendations. A resort does not appear higher because a partner has more chalets there, and we have not accepted payment for placement.
• What you pay. Commission comes out of the partner’s margin, not your price.

What we will not do

• Invent prices, availability or snow statistics to make a booking look urgent.
• Tell you a chalet is nearly sold out unless a partner’s own data says so.
• Describe snow as guaranteed. Nobody can guarantee snow.

UK advertising rules

UK advertising guidance requires commercial relationships to be disclosed clearly and up front, so that you know the basis on which you are reading a recommendation before you act on it. That is what this page and the notices beside our booking links are for. If you think any disclosure on this site falls short, tell us on the contact page and we will fix it.
