The Best Austrian Ski Resorts for Christmas
No country in the Alps does the atmosphere of Christmas as well as Austria — the villages are real, the markets are not staged for tourists, and the week before Christmas has a quality the French purpose-built resorts cannot manufacture.
The thing to check is height. Austrian villages generally sit lower than the French Tarentaise, so the reliable Christmas choices are the high ones.
